The Long Valley Mill

The building looms over the bustling Route 24, once called Chester Pike, just east of Long Valley center. At once, upon seeing it, you know that the mill holds a thousand stories and probably a thousand more secrets in its ancient timbers.

2024 Fall Strength & Balance Exercise Class

Washington Township Recreation “Strength & Balance, Live Stronger for Longer.”  This class includes seated mobility that uses body weight and light dumb bells to work on a combination of strength, balance & Flexibility with a focus on strengthening the core and limbs.  We will amplify the body’s movement through stretch, improving overall balance, posture, muscle strength, fall prevention and mobility. By learning how to move the body in a healthy way, one can reduce pain, improve body awareness, avoid injury and reinforce proper movement principles.

As we age, it is important to explore exercise that will sustain our health and keep us moving for the rest of our lives. Instead of diminishing movement, this class amplifies range of motion while integrating modifications for common age-related mobility issues. The slower pace allows older students or those who are just coming back to exercise to feel more energized, less pain and more confidence in their bodies.

Strength & Balance Exercise Class will be held on Monday’s September 23 – November 4, 2024 from 12:30-1:15pm at Washington Township Senior Center, 35 E. Springtown Rd., L.V., NJ  07053.  A nonrefundable fee for this seven-week class is due before September 18, 2024.  Registration will not be accepted after the deadline date.
